Contact Us Online
Until we transition to full digital triage on 10th February we ask that if your request is not urgent and is for a routine appointment please contact the reception team in the usual way.
What is Anima?
Anima seamlessly and confidentially integrates with your medical record bringing improvements to how you access care and appointments and how our staff assess your condition. While you are still able to call the surgery, the online triage form through Anima will ask you the same questions, streamlining the process. This is another option for our patients to use to contact us about a medical problem, admin request or ask a simple question.
Important
If you are unable to complete an Anima form online, please contact our reception team for support.
New online consultation platform
From 10th February 2026 we will be transitioning to use Anima for all online medical and administration requests. This system is called total digital triage. Anima is an NHS approved digital communication platform that allows you to communicate with and seek care from your GP practice.
How does it work?
Patients will no longer phone or come into the Surgery to book appointments but will be asked to complete a short online questionnaire to allow us to assess their needs and ensure they are directed to the most suitable person to care for them.
Where possible, patients are asked to complete the request form online via our website, however, our reception team are able to support any patients who are unable to fill the form out for themselves.
A GP will review each clinical patient request to decide which member of our healthcare team is best placed to assist them, the most suitable timeframe for an appointment, or whether this is best suited to be by telephone or face to face in the practice.
Anima FAQs
What are the opening times for Anima?
Anima will be open from 7.30am until 6.30pm every weekday.
Why is Anima not available all the time?
The practice operates a full triage system via Anima. After completing the online form the Duty Doctor will determine who the most appropriate clinician is for you for either a face-to-face or telephone consultation On some days, demand for a GP appointment far outweighs the safe capacity we can provide and when our maximum safe working capacity is reached Anima is closed. However, you will still be able to submit an Admin request. If you have an emergency in these situations, please call the reception team who will be happy to help.
How soon will I hear back?
We aim to respond to all queries the same day.
Some more routine queries may take us a few days to get back to you.
How will you make contact with me?
Depending on the nature of your request and our response, we may contact you in various ways. For example, we may be able to process your request without having to speak to you and therefore will send you an SMS and/or email.
If we need to speak to you directly, then we will contact you via telephone - please ensure you answer if you are expecting a call from our team.
What happens if I can’t access the internet or don’t feel confident using it?
Our reception team are always happy to help.
They will be able to submit requests for you via Anima and can text you or call you back to inform you of the outcome of your request and book you in for the necessary appointment.
What about vulnerable patients or those with special needs?
We work hard to identify our patients who may need extra help and can flag this on medical records ensuring the team are aware of any additional requirements.
If someone is struggling to navigate the system we will support in any way we can.
Why have we changed to Anima?
GP practices are contractually required to offer online consultations that can be used by patients, carers and by practice staff on a patient’s behalf, to gather submitted structured information and to support triage. Ensuring that patients are seen by the appropriate clinician in the right place and the right time means that patient care and experience is improved, and it reduces pressure on GP practices, allowing GPs to spend their time where it is needed the most.
Can I use Anima to request a repeat prescription?
Currently, the process of requesting medication through Anima is not the easiest way. We would recommend you use the NHS app to request your repeat prescriptions. You can also continue to request via your local pharmacy or by dropping a repeat prescription request into the surgery.
Can I book nurse appointments through Anima?
You can certainly use Anima to request nurse appointments, but these can also be booked by calling reception in the usual way. The only appointments that should be requested through Anima are GP appointments.
Is Anima an App?
No, Anima is not an app currently. It can only be accessed through the website. The Anima team are working on integration with the NHS app and we will update you when this has happened.
You can however create a ‘button’ to appear as an app onto your home page on your smart phone, tablet or computer. You can log into Anima using your NHS app login credentials or create your own unique Anima username and password.
What’s the difference between NHS app and Anima?
Anima is a way for you to communicate with us and vice versa, it does not store your medical record, test results etc.
The NHS app is still what you should use to check results and view your clinical record. It is also the quickest way to request your routine repeat medications.
Although the same log in can be used for both.
